Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
By Rick Riordan
Hi! I really love this book! I’ve always loved Greek gods, so if you don’t like Greek mythology, then this probably isn’t the book for you.
My favorite character in this book is Grover. He’s a satyr. A satyr is a cross between a goat and a human. They have horns on top of their heads and their legs have wool on them. And they don’t have feet; they have hooves. Grover is also the best friend and guardian of Percy Jackson.
Percy Jackson is the main character. He is the son of Poseidon. But he doesn’t know that until some very interesting people tell him. He is being hunted by monsters and he does not know what to make of them. While he’s still living in the mortal life, he runs into a few monsters who change his life forever.
This books takes you on an adventure of Percy fighting to find Zeus’ master lightning bolt before he’s blamed for taking it by all the gods. Poseidon might have to go to war with Zeus if Percy cannot show up with the bolt on time. But Percy only has until the summer solstice (which is coming up very soon) to get it back. And he doesn’t know for sure where it is!
Will Percy ever survive? Or will everything go wrong for Grover and Percy? As I always say, read the book to find out!
A few helpful things I like to say about the books I read:
“Run and Get Mom” (how I describe the scariness factor – zero being not scary at all and five being majorly scary): 3
“Yucky-Lovey Stuff” (how I describe the romance factor – zero having no yucky-lovey parts in it and five having major yucky-lovey parts): 1
I give this book 5 wands.
I loved this book! I’ve actually read the whole series and would recommend it all! If you’re into a thrilling tale that includes false accusations and mysterious places, then you will love this book!
